These Terms are the agreement between you and Nik Senekovič, sole proprietor, Slovenia (EU) ("we", "us", "PooScan"), governing your use of the PooScan iOS app. By downloading or using PooScan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
PooScan is a screening tool, not a veterinary diagnosis. It uses AI to give you plain-language guidance to help you decide whether to contact your vet. It does not diagnose disease, does not prescribe treatment, and is not a substitute for examination, advice, or care from a licensed veterinarian. AI can be wrong, and a photo cannot replace a physical exam.
Never delay, disregard, or override professional veterinary advice because of something PooScan showed you. Use your own judgment about your dog's health, and consult a licensed veterinarian for any medical decision.
If your dog is in distress or this looks like an emergency, do not wait for an app — call your veterinarian or the nearest animal emergency hospital immediately.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use PooScan on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service. We retain all rights, title, and interest in the app, its content, and its underlying technology. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except where the law expressly permits.
You agree to use PooScan only for its intended purpose — screening your own dog's stool. You agree not to:

Prices are shown in your local currency at purchase and may vary by region and over time.
Subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and again at the start of each new period unless you cancel. Apple will charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the then-current price for your plan. The subscription continues until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime, and you manage everything through Apple — we cannot cancel a subscription for you. Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device (the app's Settings screen links you straight there). To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before it begins. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Because Apple processes all payments, refunds are handled by Apple under its standard policy, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. The single-scan unlock is a one-time purchase that is consumed when used.
This restates the box at the top because it matters. PooScan's urgency tiers (NORMAL, MONITOR, VET_SOON, URGENT), Bristol score, findings, possible causes, recommendations, and the vet-ready PDF are AI-generated screening guidance only. They are produced from a photo and the information you enter, both of which can be incomplete or misread. They are not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a medical device output.
You are solely responsible for decisions about your dog's health. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment. In an emergency, contact a vet or an animal emergency hospital directly — do not rely on the app.
PooScan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the app's output is correct, complete, or suitable for any clinical decision. The app depends on third-party AI providers whose availability and behavior we do not control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any harm, loss, cost, or injury (including to your dog's health) arising from your use of, or reliance on, PooScan or its output. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have as an EU resident.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Slovenia. If you are a consumer in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Because PooScan is distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple Standard EULA") also applies to your use of the app, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA conflict, these Terms govern between you and us, except on matters the Apple Standard EULA reserves to Apple. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for PooScan, and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms entitled to enforce them.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the date at the top. If you keep using PooScan after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
